October has been a good month for me so far. It’s hard to
believe two years have passed since my Stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis. I’m
delighted to reach this point. The treatments are continuing to work against
the tumours and I’m coping with the side-effects.
On Saturday, I celebrated my 65th birthday – a major
milestone made extra special by sharing the day with my youngest granddaughter who
is one year old. It was lovely to see lots of family together and to play at
the park with her older cousins. I even managed to ride on a dish roundabout –
not something I would have attempted two years ago!
Earlier in the month, I sent my third Baxby novel to Sharpe
Books, most likely for publication in December. The two timelines will come
together in this book, with detective-physician Baxby returning to England and concluding
his story in gaol. There will be multiple suspicious deaths, politics, espionage
and intrigue at the court of King James.
Keep a look out by following me on Amazon. You can find the
earlier novels Paying in Blood and Naming the Dead at Baxby
Books , available on kindle, kindle unlimited and paperback. If you haven’t
already done so, please consider giving some Amazon stars as these help authors
get established on the platform.
Also, this has been a good time to start to look back and
reflect on the way my life has changed over the past few years. I’ve started posting
old photos on social media and sharing thoughts on my blog Looking Back. Alongside,
I’m doing research for a follow- on series of mystery novels set in London 1613
- 1620.
Many thanks again for all the support and encouragement,
Karen H
